Ordeal had a 'catastrophic' impact on TV star
A SECURITY guard who hatched "depraved and vile" plans to kidnap, rape and murder TV star Holly Willoughby has been jailed for life.
Gavin Plumb's plot had a "catastrophic and life-changing" impact on the former This Morning presenter, a court was told yesterday.
Judge Mr Justice Edward Murray said he must serve at least 15 years and 85 days behind bars after a jury convicted him unanimously of soliciting murder and inciting rape and kidnap.
He described some of the plans Plumb, 37, discussed online as "particularly sadistic, brutal and degrading".
Dismissing Plumb's defence that his plot was a fantasy, the judge said: "There is no doubt that if you had genuinely found one or more accomplices who were seriously interested in and had been willing to join you in carrying your plan through, then you would have put this plan into action."
