Crowds get first glimpse of TV's Jurassic giant

CROWDS gathered yesterday to be the first to see a perfectly preserved Jurassic fossil made famous by Sir David Attenborough.
The skull of the 150-million-year-old pliosaur was painstakingly extracted from a cliff on Dorset's Jurassic Coast last year in a secret mission filmed by the BBC.
Sir David revealed the incredible discovery in a special documentary screened on New Year's Day.

He explained how the pliosaur was an underwater killing machine the size of a double-decker bus, which raced through waters at up to 30mph.
