Only his 16th runner there, Wild Waves made excellent progress as a three-year-old, winning at Kempton and Doncaster before finishing fourth in York’s high quality Melrose Handicap. He earned a further rating upgrade by running really well in the season’s final Classic on Town Moor and the son of Crystal Ocean could be a step ahead of his 13 opponents.
