Couple 'poisoned by trusted friend' who 'rewrote their will'

A MAN befriended a married couple then poisoned them with fentanyl and rewrote their will in his favour, a murder trial has heard.

Tracy Ayling KC, prosecuting, said Luke D'Wit also worked for Stephen and Carol Baxter, saying in a statement to police that he was "like an adopted son to both of them".

Chelmsford Crown Court heard that Stephen, 61, and Carol, 64, ran a firm named Cazsplash and she had designed a mat for curved showers.

The prosecutor said D'Wit "created" a will on his phone at 6.54am a day after the pair were found dead.
