SLY DUNBAR played with all the greats from Bob Marley and Bob Dylan to The Rolling Stones, Herbie Hancock, Joe Cocker and Ian Dury to name but a few.

He was best known as one half of the prolific Jamaican rhythm section and reggae production duo Sly And Robbie.
During a stellar music career, he was a 13-time Grammy nominee and received two Grammy awards: the 1985 award for Best Reggae Recording for the Black Uhuru album Anthem, for which Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare were producers, and one for the 1999 Best Reggae Album for the Sly And Robbie album entitled Friends.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, the revered drummer started out playing on tin cans after watching Lloyd Knibbs And The Skatalites on TV.
