Chinook crash son warns MoD over anti-cover-up law

Andy Tobias and others have accused the Ministry of Defence of covering up what led to the 1994 crash of the RAF helicopter on the Mull of Kintyre, with crucial documents into the incident sealed for a century.

The Public Office (Accountability) Bill - dubbed the Hillsborough law after the battle by families over the deaths of 96 Liverpool football fans puts a legal duty on public servants to act truthfully and support inquiries into actions by the state.

Concerns

Soldiers, police officers and intelligence experts were among 29 killed on the Chinook flight, which was allowed to take off despite safety concerns before the crash.
