Car park firm must give £10k to charity
Daily Express
|April 08, 2025
A PARKING firm must pay £10,000 to charity after a driver landed £11,000 in fines from missing a five-minute payment window.
Hannah Robinson, 21, regularly parked her BMW in the centre of Darlington, Co Durham, while working at a nearby steak house.
She would pay up to £8.50 a day to leave her car in the 650-space Feethams Leisure multi-storey facility run by Excel Parking.
But despite tickets proving she paid to leave her car, Hannah racked up £11,390 in 67 fines since 2021 for failing to buy a ticket within the five-minute window.
