JOS STILL FANCIES WORLD CUP CHANCES AFTER WINTER WOES

- Gideon Brooks

Buttler may serve Salt with gloves

JOS BUTTLER says England’s white-ball winter wipeout has left him more determined than ever to lead his side to a successful T20 World Cup title defence in June.

But the batting star hinted that he is considering leading England from the field, not behind the stumps.

The limited-overs winter concluded on Thursday night with a 3-2 T20 series loss against West Indies, adding to the 2-1 ODI series defeat and the woeful 50-over World Cup campaign in India.

But while Buttler admitted those bruises had left a mark, he maintained that the winter has hardened his resolve to carry on and get things right with a team he believes have the potential to win the T20 World Cup.
