Britain vows to play a part in guarantees for peace settlement

BRITAIN will "play our part" in ensuring Ukraine has security guarantees as part of any peace settlement, a minister has insisted.
Policing minister Dame Diana Johnson said yesterday the UK has a "vested interest" in making sure the Eastern European country is involved in negotiations over its own future. It follows talks between the US and Russia which barred other nations.
She explained: "We've been very clear to say that Ukraine has to be part of any negotiations and yesterday [US] Secretary of State Marco Rubio was saying that European countries and, of course, Ukraine has to be part of any negotiations. I think the British position on this is very clear."
