THE Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 was one of the worst disasters in human history, killing at least 227,000 people in 14 countries.
A 9.3 magnitude under-sea earthquake, the third most powerful recorded, struck off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
The whole planet vibrated, and a vast area of seabed was lifted, creating a tsunami with waves up to 100ft high.
