Bowen bids for his first Festival win

AS SOON as he reached the magic 200-winner mark the extraordinary Sean Bowen’s focus shifted firmly on to the Cheltenham Festival.
Ten years ago when just 17 years old he came close to opening his Festival account by finishing second in the Pertemps Final, beaten three-quarters of a length.
Yet on all subsequent visits Bowen, now 28, has had barely a whiff of experiencing the unique winning atmosphere at jump racing’s biggest race meeting.
“I set off at the start of the season aiming to get to 200 winners and as many Grade One winners,” he says. “The 200 has happened and it would be lovely to ride a Cheltenham winner.
