THE boss of Barclays has called for “stability” across the political landscape amid the storm in Downing Street.

CS Venkatakrishnan, the bank’s chief executive — known as Venkat - faced questions on the turmoil in No10 after Barclays published its full-year earnings.

“From the point of view of businesses and financial markets and financial industry, we like to see stability and predictability,” he said.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has faced increased scrutiny over his leadership following the resignation of chief of staff Morgan McSweeney and the director of communications.
