Parking enforcers powerless to stop them

- BY ADAM TOMS

Anger over caravans on Millionaires' Row

Caravans and camper vans line streets in the leafy area surrounding Hampstead Heath where the average property sale price last year was £1.6m

CARAVANS and motorhomes parked on streets are infuriating residents of a wealthy neighbourhood that has attracted celebrity residents, including Liam Gallagher and Harry Styles.

Rows of the vehicles are found on roads near Hampstead Heath in North London, where the average property sale price last year was £1.6million.

People are seemingly living in the vehicles or abandoning them for weeks or even months on end.

A council parking enforcer who patrols the streets daily told this newspaper how the council and police periodically tap on the vehicles’ windows but get no answer.

He said: “The problem is, how they are going to monitor them if you can’t see them? You have to see someone living inside to take legal action.”
