ROBBIE Williams is facing a legal challenge for a third of future royalties of his hit song, Angels.

- By News Reporter

Ray Heffernan plans to use “the bestseller clause”, a new piece of EU copyright law allowing for retrospective compensation for songwriters, after claiming he was paid just £7,500 for the ballad.

The 1997 single, which spent 12 weeks in the top 10, had sold more than 1.16 million copies in the UK by 2014 alone.

It also racked up more than 650 million streams on Spotify.
