Airport liquid rules delayed for 12 months

A RELAXATION of airport rules on carrying liquids in hand luggage has been delayed by up to a year.
The Government yesterday said it has granted extensions to several major airports that can't meet its June 1 deadline to install new scanners.
They produce more detailed images, which mean passengers can pass through security with containers holding up to two litres of liquid.
But at airports that don't have the new technology, the limit is still 100ml of liquid in containers placed in clear bags.
Travellers failing to adhere to the rule is one of the biggest causes of delays at airport security checks.
