'AI tech will outsmart man within 20 years'

GODFATHER of artificial intelligence Geoffrey Hinton believes AI will outsmart humans within 20 years and branded it "potentially very dangerous technology".
Professor Hinton's work laid the foundations for machine learning allowing computers to mimic and better human intelligence. It earned him the godfather nickname and he won the Nobel Prize in Physics this year.
But he told Radio 4's Today programme: "I didn't think it would be where we would be now.
