Agyemang's amazing rise from ball girl to shooting star in four years
Daily Express
|July 24, 2025
FOUR years ago Michelle Agyemang was a ball girl at one of Sarina Wiegman's first matches as England manager.
Now, at 19, the Arsenal forward is the youngest member of the Lionesses' squad and one of the breakout stars of Euro 2025.
Agyemang - who is of Ghanaian descent and whose surname means "saviour of the nation" - came off the bench with five minutes of normal time left as England chased an equaliser in their semifinal clash against Italy.
She struck in the sixth minute of stoppage time, calmly slotting home for 1-1 and sending supporters across the country into raptures. Her cool finish forced extra time, where she nearly scored again with a skilful chip that cannoned off the crossbar.
England went on to book their place in Sunday's final through Chloe Kelly's late strike.
