Sheila Bernette enjoyed a stellar career in film, television, radio and theatre spanning over 50 years.
Born Sheila Poncini in Marylebone, London, her parents were of Italian descent and her father Charles was a waiter.
She trained in ballet at the Italia Conti Stage Academy from aged two, leaving after five years to concentrate on acting, and attended the Aida Foster theatre school.
