£5,500 cost of erasing Banksy court mural

REMOVING a Banksy mural from the Royal Courts of Justice has cost the Ministry of Justice more than £5,500 so far, it said.

The artwork, which was stencilled on a wall outside the building last month, depicted a protester lying on the ground holding a blood-spattered placard. A gavel-wielding judge wearing a wig and gown loomed over him.

It appeared after almost 900 demonstrators were arrested for protesting in central London against the banning of Palestine Action as a terror group.
