DRIVERS could face 1.5 million new potholes this winter — and 500,000 of them may not be repaired by spring, a shocking study claims.
It is estimated that councils in England and Wales could fill a broken stretches of road every 18 seconds.
The Asphalt Industry Alliance revealed in March that the cost of bringing all roads up to “ideal” standards would be about £17bn.
