10-minute blood test breakthrough to diagnose suspected heart attacks

A RAPID test for heart attacks could spot danger signs in 10 minutes so patients get vital care quicker.
When someone has a suspected heart attack, a blood sample is usually sent to a lab where it is tested for a protein called troponin.
It is released when the heart muscle is damaged and high levels suggest a person is having a heart attack. But lab tests that look for troponin can take up to two hours.
