A FARMER'S lamb was shot dead in what is thought to have been a random attack.

- JONATHON HILL

The incident happened at Andrea Williams-Jones’ farm in Ton Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Ms Williams-Jones found the lamb with a hole through its neck and head on her smallholding on the afternoon of Thursday, June 26.

A spokesman for South Wales Police confirmed the force has been investigating the incident.

Ms Williams-Jones said: “We did our usual morning checks on the animals that day.

“All was fine and the lambs were alongside their mother as usual. But at around 2pm a resident was walking past our home with their dog and told us that one of the lambs was dead in the field. We immediately pulled on our boots and raced down to see what had happened.

“We found our pet ewe lamb laying on her side covered in her own blood and part of her skull was on the floor near her. Her body was still limp so she hadn’t long been dead.
