Brady's bunch fall three runs short in narrow Mid-Whitgiftian loss to Banstead
Croydon Advertiser
|June 20, 2025
TRINITY Mid-Whitgiftian fell agonisingly short in their run chase at Lime Meadow Avenue against Banstead seconds.
-
Having lost the toss and been inserted into the field, Mids opening bowlers Ben Ives (2-20) and Matt Winter (2-29) got the hosts off to a good start, leaving Banstead 25-2.
Banstead rallied to 72-2 before an Ives run out sparked a middle order collapse, with Jamie Collins (1-29) getting involved and Winter returning for a second spell and proving effective, leaving them 119-6.
In an innings of momentum shifts, Banstead's lower order seized control with a 64-run partnership, before Marlowe Cadiz (1-29) and Dan Alleyn (2-47) once again were clinical at the death to restrict Banstead to 185-9 from their allocated 50 overs.
