Below-par Trinity fall to loss at battling Worcester Park

TRINITY Mid-whitfgiftian travelled to Worcester Park with high hopes of a dominant win after strong performances in previous weeks despite the 1-1 record.

With some early morning rain and cloud cover, captain Sam Williams was keen to test Mids’ chasing capabilities. But, the prospect of five won tosses in a row was asking too much of the fledgling skipper, and the Mids were put in.

Richard Piggin got a good one early, bringing Sadeesh in. The left-right partnership with Rosh Malhotra worked the Worcester fielders on a slow outfield, producing multiple twos and threes.

It was the slow pitch that undid Sadeesh (21) as he spooned a drive to extra cover, and subsequently Rosh (18), a flick to mid-wicket.

Jamie Collins joined Williams in the middle as the two looked to rebuild against a variety of Worcester’s spin options, their tight lines and lengths restricting the rate.
