FOODBANK VOLUNTEER STARS IN 2026 FUNDRAISER

- By RACHEL STRETTON News Reporter

Tony finds himself in a charity puzzle calendar

A COVENTRY foodbank user-turnedvolunteer is at the heart of this year's Christmas fundraising campaign to combat the escalating food crisis in the city.

Tony Lee, a Bedworth resident, is the ‘star’ of the charity’s latest fundraiser titled ‘Where's Tony?, a clever twist on the well-loved hide and seek picture puzzle books ‘Where's Wally?”

In addition to a lively social media campaign running every other day throughout December, the 12 cartoon scenes, which depict locations in Coventry and the foodbank, also form the basis of a fundraising calendar, now available for purchase from the charity.

The campaign, launching this week, aims to raise both awareness and thousands of pounds for the hard-pressed foodbank, which operates 15 centres across the city.

Tony first came into contact with the foodbank in 2012 after a hospital stay due to septic arthritis, a serious condition that left him unable to work for several months while recovering.
