Thousands paid out by the council over city potholes

MORE than 180 drivers have submitted claims for pothole-related damage in Coventry.
Thousands of pounds in compensation have been paid out by Coventry City Council.
Since 2022, Coventry City Council has paid over £50,000 to motorists whose vehicles were damaged by potholes, according to Accident Claims Advice.
Figures revealed that 188 pothole-related claims were submitted across a three-year period.
In 2022/23, 32 people submitted claims to Coventry City Council, with payouts totalling around £3,700. Complaints soared in 2023/24, with 113 claims lodged, representing the majority of reports recorded.
