NEW strict parking measures could be put into places on streets across Coventry.

- By CLAIRE HARRISON

A proposed traffic order lists a number of changes set to be made on residential and main routes in the city.

In it, it explains that calls have been made by locals themselves, schools, business and ward councillors to bring in new rules. "A number of road safety concerns have been raised by local residents with regard to problems caused by parking.

"The problem parking is causing obstructions at junctions and/or reducing visibility of and for exiting vehicles. It is proposed to install waiting restrictions at these locations to prevent parking and improve road safety," the order states.

"In addition, changes are proposed to waiting restrictions, such as adjustments to length of restriction, or new proposals due to traffic management schemes or new developments. These proposals are to improve traffic management and road safety," the order adds.

There are also proposals for restrictions on parking pays for electric vehicles as well as new residents parking permits and extending existing schemes.

We have compiled a full list of all of the proposed changes, which are currently out for public consultation. This is so that people can have their say before final decisions are made on whether they are made official or not.

The full list:
