IT was a mixed weekend in the Elite League for Genting Casino Coventry Blaze as victory on Saturday night was followed by defeat the following evening.

- By CRAIG SUMMERTON

Blaze pulled away from the Fife Flyers in the third period to take a 4-1 win at Fife Ice Arena.

Following a physical opening five minutes, Coventry grabbed the lead through the inform Grant Mismash, scoring his third goal in five games, assisted by Elijiah Barriga. The Flyers then found themselves in penalty trouble to begin the third, but with seven seconds remaining on the powerplay, they struck an equaliser through Giordano Finoro.
