Lampard: We need to keep key players

BOSS SENDS OUT MESSAGE AHEAD OF WINTER TRANSFER WINDOW
COVENTRY City are in a great place right now, riding high at the top of the Championship heading into the halfway point of the season.
They head to Middlesbrough tonight in a second-v-top contest, seeking a tenth win in 11 games.
Frank Lampard is keen to add to his Sky Blues squad in January with a bit of strength in depth, particularly on the wings, but the team’s success and that of individuals will, inevitably, mean that there will be interest from other clubs in certain players.
The likes of Brandon ThomasAsante and Haji Wright are currently riding high as joint leading and second highest scorers in the division, while players like Milan van Ewijk - surely one of the best right-backs in the division - and Jack Rudoni were linked with interest from elsewhere in the summer.
Although City didn’t sign many in the last transfer window, part of this season’s success has been built on the fact that the club kept hold of its best players.
And with the midterm transfer window just around the corner, Lampard will again be at pains to retain his star men.
