Kieran: I want to keep Luke but it's not that simple

IPSWICH Town boss Kieran McKenna insists the club want to keep Coventry City transfer target Luke Woolfenden - but it’s not as straightforward as that.

His comments about the 26-year-old centre-back are a hint, perhaps, that despite the Tractor Boys’ stance following a reported rejected bid for the player's services from the Sky Blues, things could change.

The defender was a key part of Town's backto-back promotions from League One to the Premier League and although Woolfenden is under contract at Portman Road until 2027, he is now a backup to regular starters Dara O’Shea and Jacob Greaves. He has been an unused substitute in the club's first two Championship matches.

Woolfenden has also been linked with interest from Stoke and Watford.
