'Hybrid combined housing and speedway development' plans

THE owners of a derelict Coventry stadium are preparing to submit a new planning application, according to reports.
It's now been almost 10 years since Brandon Stadium closed permanently in 2016. Numerous planning applications have been submitted alongside a campaign to bring back a speedway track to the site.
Most recently, a planning application for a housing development was rejected in 2022 by Rugby Borough Council, under whose jurisdiction the site falls. The proposal involved 124 homes, a 3G football pitch and a pavilion at the derelict site.
