FIVE-STAR SKY BLUES HIT TOP FORM
Coventry Telegraph
|October 06, 2025
COVENTRY City fans are in dreamland at the minute with yet another purple patch in the club’s modern day history to savour and remember for years to come.
Aside from the fact that the unbeaten start to the season continued at Hillsborough, Frank Lampard's men completed an incredible goal spree of 12 goals from three games in the space of eight days to take their early season total to a whopping 27.
And what's more, three of the top five scorers in the division are Coventry players with Haji Wright extending his lead at the top of the Championship goal charts to eight (nine in all comps), while Brandon Thomas-Asante's brace against the Owls put him in joint third place with Victor Torp and Norwich City's Josh Sargent, while Hull's Ollie McBurnie sits in second place on six. But the Sky Blues head into the international break top of the league following Middlesbrough's defeat at Portsmouth, now sitting five points clear of the teams in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place.
Goals rain in but biggest improvement at the back
