August 20, 2025

COVENTRY City Council has received almost 900 complaints about unlicensed house's of multiple occupation (HMOs) since the beginning of 2024.

- By DANNY THOMPSON News Reporter

According to data released by the council, 635 complaints were logged last year, with a further 250 logged so far in 2025.

Regulations mean all HMOs in the city should be licenced.

The council is keen to ensure all HMOs meet the required standards and encourage residents or the public to alert them of issues. They say each complaint raised is investigated.
