DWAYNE Peel was delighted with the resilience showed by his Scarlets side as they claimed Judgement Day victory in Cardiff.

Their bonus-point win over the Dragons lifted them to ninth in the United Rugby Championship and close to a play-off spot.

It had looked bleak for the West Walians early in the second half when they trailed 20-7.

But the Dragons - in search of just their second league win of the season - couldn't maintain their control as Peel's side battled back.

Scarlets head coach Peel said: “It was a tough game and I am pleased with the character and resilience we showed to fight back.

“I thought we started well, we won the territory battle, but a few errors from us meant we weren't able to capitalise on that.

“Then that final 20 of the first half and first 10 of the second I thought we lost the physical battle, they managed to get a few rips of the ball and we weren’t able to get in the game.

“But we showed resilience to fight back and battled hard to get the win.
