'Race across the world could make or break us'

A YOUNG couple are about to embark on the trip of a lifetime as they feature in the new series of Race Across the World on BBC One.

Carmarthen couple Fin and Sioned, who are both 17 years old, are the youngest-ever contestants on the show and are in it to win it.

The pair have swapped their small-town Welsh life for a 14,000km adventure across Asia.

They will be starting on the Great Wall of China as they race the other four teams across China, Nepal and India, before ending in Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.

Sioned and Fin will be set the challenge of travelling without smartphones or bank cards all they'll have is money equal to the cost of flying the route in the hope of winning the cash prize of £20,000.

It seems that isn’t the only challenge, however, as the couple are using the competition to test their relationship too. Sioned said: "I wanted to travel anyway, so it’s a great start for that, but along with discovering more about myself and Fin, just strengthening that bond in a very real and authentic way.
