Telangana government committed to social justice and provided 42% reservation to BCs in education, jobs and local bodies, said State Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy.
On Friday, the minister inaugurated the statue of Chakali Ailamma installed under the auspices of Gudepu Srinu on the occasion of Chakali Ailamma's 135th birth anniversary in Burugadda village of Huzurnagar mandal.
Speaking at a meeting organized on this occasion, he said that Chakali Ailamma's life history is very great and that she fought a fierce fight for land reforms during the then Nizam government, and suggested that programs be organized to make students aware of her history. The Minister said that our government has not only named the Koti Women's University after Chakali Ailamma in recognition of her, but also is working to develop it with hundreds of crores to make it a leading university in the country.
