Telangana caste census survey a role model for nation: Expert Committee submits report to CM Reddy

The Independent Expert Committee appointed by the Telangana state government to review the recently conducted caste census has submitted its comprehensive 300-page report to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

The committee, chaired by former Supreme Court Judge Justice Sudarshan Reddy, described the survey as "scientific, authentic, and historic" and said it could serve as a model for the entire country.

The report was formally presented to the Chief Minister at a high-level meeting held at the MCRHRD Institute in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The Working Group included prominent scholars and experts such as Professor Kancha llaiah (Vice Chairman), Professor Shantha Sinha, Dr Sukhadeo Thorat, Professor Jean Dréze, Professor Thomas Piketty, Professor Bhangya Bhukya, Professor Himanshu, Nikhil Dey, Praveen Chakravarty, Professor Purushottam Reddy, and IAS officer Anudeep Durishetty, who served as Secretary to the group.
