Relay Hunger Strike by Journalists in Mahabubnagar Enters Fifth Day: Widespread Support Grows

The relay hunger strike led by the Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TWJF) demanding land allotments under the Indiramma Housing Scheme for poor and eligible journalists in Mahabubnagar has reached its fifth consecutive day.

The protest is being held near the Dasari Narasimha Dasadina Karma Deeksha Camp, which has become the epicenter of the growing movement.

On Friday, desk journalists and video journalists turned up in large numbers at the strike camp to express solidarity with the protesting members. Andhra Jyothy Edition In-Charge Tirupathayya emphasized that while the media landscape is evolving rapidly, journalists continue to face systemic challenges. He pointed out that the responsibility to resolve these issues lies with officials, elected representatives, and ultimately the government. He recalled the earlier 40-day protest held by TWJF and called for collective participation in the ongoing agitation.

Mala Mahanadu State Working President Minister Narasimhulu criticized both former and present administrations for failing to allot housing sites to deserving journalists. He pledged complete support from Mala Mahanadu to the movement and said the organization is ready to back any future initiatives.
