Encounter on a Silent Road: A Glimpse into Hyderabad's Dark Reality : Dr. M.Suresh Babu

Last week, I started my journey around 10 PM in Anantapur and reached Hyderabad in the early hours between 3 AM and 3:30 AM. I entered the City through Katedan to drop my friend at Sagar Ring Road. The road was quiet and deserted. As we were about to make a right turn, I suddenly noticed a group of girls standing at the turn. They stood completely still, with white-painted faces. It wasn't their natural complexion, but rather they had white paint covering their faces. They were dressed in reflective and radium-colored clothing, carrying purses, and standing motionless. We took a left turn and stopped because the road ahead was isolated, with no streetlights.

As we prepared to take a U-turn, I saw two more women standing further down the road, both with white faces, just like the others. As we were about to complete the U-turn, a guy on a two-wheeler approached. He seemed to notice the women, hesitated, and then quickly took a U-turn and left. It felt as though he had also seen them and decided to leave immediately, which made us even more uneasy. We quickly made our U-turn and left as well.What struck me as odd was that this wasn't a residential area, and there didn't seem to be any cultural or religious events happening at that time.
