Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make advance arrangements for the Godavari Pushkarams, to be held from July 23, 2027, describing the mega event as the “South Indian Kumbh Mela".

He instructed that a comprehensive action plan be prepared well in advance to ensure the festival is organized on a grand scale.

Chairing a review meeting at the Command Control Center today, the Chief Minister said that the development of major temples along the Godavari river in Telangana should be given top priority. He asked officials to prepare special plans to provide facilities for lakhs of devotees expected to attend, ensuring arrangements without any shortcomings.

The Godavari river, which enters Telangana from Maharashtra, flows for 560 km in the state. Officials informed the Chief Minister that Pushkaram ghats need to be set up at about 74 locations.
