Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu has suggested that the village-wise revenue conferences to be held in all mandals from June 3 should be organized efficiently to receive applications from farmers and people on land-related issues under the ambitious Bhu Bharati Act implemented by the government.

On Saturday, at the conference hall of the Integrated District Offices Complex, tehsildars, naib tehsildars, revenue inspectors and surveyors were made aware of the issues of conducting revenue conferences, scrutiny of applications, comprehensive investigation at the field level, etc. Through a power point presentation, they were informed about the provisions of the Bhu Bharati Act and the manner in which applications should be resolved. The Collector said that revenue conferences have already been held in eight villages in Mendora mandal of the district on a pilot basis and field investigations have been conducted.

He suggested that conferences should be organized in a systematic manner in all the villages across the district in the same manner. He said that the government guidelines should be strictly followed and the processes of receiving applications, their scrutiny and investigation should be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the new ROR Act. He set a deadline for successfully completing the revenue conferences by June 03 to 20. He said that the conferences should start every day at 9.00 am and be available till evening to receive applications.
