SCIENTISTS at Stellenbosch University (SU) have discovered a groundbreaking way to tell time in the fossil record, by dating fossilised dinosaur eggshells.
Until now, determining the precise age of fossil sites has been a challenge. Researchers often relied on dating surrounding minerals or volcanic layers. But when these are missing, fossils themselves remained stubbornly elusive to precise dating.
