Rondebosch dominate Jeppe as St Andrew's triumph

THE highlight of the North vs South schools rugby tournament, hosted by Paul Roos in Stellenbosch, was the clash between Rondebosch and Jeppe High from Johannesburg.

It was the team from Cape Town that turned up the heat in the second half, running out 38-15 winners after leading 19-15 at the interval.
The first half was an epic encounter, with the lead changing hands several times. Both sides showed a willingness to run the ball, resulting in some excellent tries.
Bosch opened the scoring early when their lively scrumhalf and SA Under-19 flank Joshua Neill, capitalised on a loose ball and romped home unchallenged for an unconverted try. Jeppe soon showed their intent when their classy backs moved the ball out wide, enabling wing Ndimphiwe Mjiji to finish off a well-executed try.
