Zelenskyy rejects ceding land as European leaders back Ukraine ahead of Trump-Putin meeting on August 15

- AGENCIES

US President Donald Trump is open to holding a trilateral summit in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a White House official said.

Vice President J D Vance said on Sunday the US was working to schedule talks between Putin and Zelenskyy. In a Fox News interview on Sunday, he said he did not think it would be productive for Putin to sit down with Zelenskyy before meeting with Trump.

Meanwhile, European nations rallied behind Ukraine, saying peace in the war-torn nation can't be resolved without Kyiv, ahead of a planned meeting between Trump and Putin.
