Trump Escalates Fight With Courts By Calling For Impeachment

President Donald Trump is calling for the impeachment of a judge who ruled against his effort to swiftly deport alleged Venezuelan gang members, escalating his administration's battle against the judiciary.
Trump didn't refer to Chief US District Judge Jeb Boasberg in Washington by name in a social media post on Tuesday, calling him a "radical left lunatic of a judge."
Chief Justice John G. Roberts rebuked Trump in a rare public statement after the president called for a judge's impeachment.
"Impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision," Justice Roberts wrote in a social media post.
The Justice Department has also sought to have the case reassigned from Boasberg, making the request in a Monday letter to a federal appeals court in Washington.
