GRIDCON 2025, a premier global event for the power transmission sector organised by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID, a 'Maharatna' Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under Ministry of Power Government of India brought together policy makers, academia, industry and stakeholders to deliberate on Innovations in Grid Resilience: Strategies for enhancing reliability, Sustainability and Adaptability of Power Transmission System

 Today, India has emerged as the world's fifth largest economy and is firmly on the path to becoming a global energy leader. The New India, as per the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has an ambition of transforming into a fully developed nation by 2047. In its march towards sustained high economic development, New India surely requires a power sector that can create adequate, reliable, and sustainable energy generation to meet the growth ambitions of the people of the nation.
Noticeably, India has an ambitious target to achieve non-fossil generation capacity of 500 GW and meet 50% of its energy requirement from renewable energy by 2030. As new innovations are made in Thermal, Hydro, Solar, Wind, Biomass, Pump Storage Power, Battery Energy Storage System capacity and Nuclear, GRIDCON 2025, a premier global event and exhibition in the power transmission industry organised by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a 'Maharatna' Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under Ministry of Power, Government of India, got underway on 9th March 2025 to deliberate collectively on Grid resilience to empower New India as a global energy leader.
GRIDCON 2025 exhibition and event was inaugurated by Sh. Manohar Lal, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister of Power, Govt. of India, in the presence of Sh. Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon'ble Minister of State for Power & New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, and other dignitaries. In his inaugural address, Lal said that the Power Sector is crucial to the progress of our Country, wherein there is an important role of the transmission companies in ensuring that sustainable, efficient and affordable energy continues to fuel the robust economic progress that has now made India the fifth largest global economy.
