Amid financial strain, MP looks to opt out of decentralised procurement scheme

One of the foremost foodgrain procuring states in the country, Madhya Pradesh (MP), has approached the Centre to opt out of the decentralised procurement system, citing mounting financial challenges.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, in a letter written recently to the Centre, said that the state government had been suffering significant financial losses due to delays in clearing of foodgrain stocks purchased through the Decentralised Procurement System (DCP).
