3rd-party motor cover rate hike needed for firms' survival: New India Assurance

If third party (TP) motor insurance rate is not hiked, it will become a survival issue for firms, New India Assurance Company chairman and managing director Girija Subramanian (pictured), asserted in an analyst call this week, seeking a relook at the rates.
"As far as (motor) TP is concerned, it is a mandated business. So, we have no control over it. We will have to continue doing the TP business. We cannot have a strategy around it," she said.
