Mutual benefit groups post surplus of P7.561B as assets, liabilities rose

MUTUAL benefit associations (MBAs) in the Philippines posted a combined net surplus of P7.561 billion in 2025, according to the Insurance Commission (IC).
MBAs are non-stock and nonprofit organization that provides insurance, financial aid and benefits to its members, often funded through contributions or assessments rather than fixed premiums.
IC data showed that the sector's surplus rose by 5.56 percent to P7.561 billion in 2025 from P7.163 billion a year ago.
