TEAM FINISHES RUNNERS-UP IN BRITISH CARE AWARDS

A SOUTH Derbyshire company is celebrating being named 'Highly Commended Home Care Team' at the British Regional Care Awards.

ENA homecare services, based in Swadlincote, competed against 12 finalists from across the region, and finished runner-up in the category, which recognises excellence in home care delivery and team performance.

Manager Kay Smith said the recognition was a proud moment for the entire team, particularly as they were up against much larger organisations with multiple branches across the Midlands.

"We put our team forward and got shortlisted to finalist position in the whole of the region, and then we came away with the runner up position, which was highly commended," Kay said.

"We're such a small team of only 17. To be able to take my team to the care awards was such an honour."

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 26, at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, with a selection of staff attending after the team progressed through a judging process that included finalist interviews.
